Position Overview
  • Address: 1801 N. Senate Blvd., Suite 3300, Indianapolis, IN 46202
  • Hours: 7:30am-4:00pm, no weekends or holidays
  • Full-time position
  • Non-certified candidates are welcome to apply for the MA I position, which does not require current certification
Responsibilities
  • Perform duties related to direct patient care and clinical support under supervision
  • Ensure completeness of procedures and treatments, facilitate smooth patient flow
  • Conduct general lab work and instruct patients on procedures and treatments
  • Carry out medical orders and referrals accurately and timely
  • Handle registration and scheduling activities
  • Maintain EMR files and perform front office functions as needed
  • May perform computerized physician order entry under physician direction
  • Precept current MA team members or externs as requested
Minimum Qualifications
  • AHA Basic Life Support certification required
  • High school diploma or equivalent; graduation from a Medical Assistant program required
  • Current certification in medical assisting from recognized certifying bodies (CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, CMAC)
  • Knowledge of OSHA, CLIA, ADA standards, ICD-10, CPT coding
  • TB validation or within 6 months of hire preferred
  • Knowledge of Quality Programs, Meaningful Use, and Standard Work concepts within 6 months
  • Knowledge of standard clinical procedures, insurance plans, and third-party payers
  • Ability to master clinical competencies and perform accurate data entry
