Job summary

Franciscan Health Crown Point Medical Arts Center is seeking a Medical Assistant to support ambulatory cardiology clinics. The role includes rooming patients, taking vitals, obtaining medical history, documenting care in the EMR, administering vaccines and injections, phlebotomy, and medication reconciliation under supervision.

You will coordinate patient care, schedule tests, and liaise between patients and providers.

Qualifications

• Required High School Diploma/GED.
• Required Program Medical Assisting.
• Required Program In lieu of program, 5 years of medical assistant experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association.
• Multiple medical assistant certifications listed (RMA, CMA, CCMA, NCMA, NRCMA, AMT, NCCT, NHA).

Responsibilities

• Assist providers and staff in coordinating patient care, scheduling appointments, executing physician orders for lab testing, and entering information in the EMR.
• Serve as a liaison between patients, coworkers, and providers.
• Room patients, take vitals, obtain medical history, document care in EMR, administer vaccines and injections, perform phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, and medication reconciliation under supervision.
• Gather requirements from internal and external customers and provide information via phone, electronic messaging, and in person.
• Initiate and follow through on prior authorizations, referrals, and process sample medications, prescriptions, and refills as directed.
