Shift: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm

We are seeking a Medical Assistant II for our Outpatient Ambulatory Clinic in Austin, TX. The ideal candidate works well in a fast-paced environment, providing patient care and excellent customer service. Responsibilities include assisting in coordinating patient flow and provider schedules to ensure effective patient care.

Note: All successful candidates will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing to comply with occupational health and safety standards, as part of our commitment to a safe workplace.

Qualifications
  • One of the following certifications:
  • CCMA - Certified Clinical Medical Assistant from the National Healthcare Association
  • CMA-AAM - Certified Medical Assistant from the American Association of Medical Assistants
  • EMT Certifications (EMT, EMT-A, EMT-B, EMT-I, EMT-P) from the Texas Department of State and Health Services
  • LIC PAR - Licensed Paramedic from the Texas Department of State and Health Services
  • NCMA - National Medical Assistant Certification from the National Center for Competency Testing
  • NRCMA - Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant from the National Association of Health Professionals
  • RMA - Registered Medical Assistant from recognized certifying bodies
  • Minimum 2 years of related experience
Responsibilities
  • Respond promptly to patient inquiries regarding appointment status, wait times, or issues.
  • Use the patient management system to record patient arrivals and open patient accounts.
  • Update patient status daily, including cancellations, no-shows, or reschedules.
  • Prioritize patients for rooming based on appointment and arrival times.
  • Assist licensed staff with inpatient admission processes as needed.
  • Help with patient escorts and paperwork.
  • Collect and document patient and family data, including biophysical and psychosocial information.
  • Report abnormal or out-of-range data to RN or provider.
  • Ensure requisitions contain complete clinical, demographic, billing, and payor information.
  • Monitor patient flow and adjust staffing to minimize wait times and prevent bottlenecks.
