Job description

Overview

We are seeking seasonal per diem staff to join our team for fall vaccine clinics!

Clinics are expected to run from September 15th through November 14th, 2025; Monday-Friday.

We will offer four (4) five (5) hour shifts per day and ask that per diem staff provide at least two (2) shifts of coverage per week.

Available shifts:

AM 1: 6am-11am

AM 2: 7:30am-12:30pm

PM 1: 11:30am-4:30pm

PM 2: 1:30pm-6:30pm

  • Fridays = AM shifts only

Please note that external hires will be required to attend a full week of orientation with a target hire date of 8/18. All MA/LNA hires will also be required to attend one additional day of injection training, date to be determined (unless previously completed as a current employee).

Responsibilities
  • Greets, checks in patients, and notifies appropriate provider. Prepares patient, room, and equipment for procedures and exams.
  • Takes and records vital signs. Informs provider of patient vital signs and concerns.
  • Recognizes and treats emergency patients as a priority, assists with patient examinations and treatments.
  • Handles patient situations over the phone, schedules appointments and procedures with medical professionals. Understands limitations in dealing with patients over the phone, and involves nursing staff and providers.
  • Registers new patients and establishes a medical record.
  • Prepares patient billing.
  • Assists patients by filling out insurance and other forms.
  • Supplies authorized information upon request by third-party payors.
  • Instructs patients in preparation for specific procedures.
  • Collects and processes routine laboratory specimens.
  • Operates and maintains clinical equipment.
  • Maintains and uses aseptic technique including sterilization, disinfection, and disposal of contaminated material.
  • Cleans, wraps, and autoclaves instruments. Cares for supplies and equipment.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program required.
  • Previous experience in office or outpatient ambulatory care setting strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well as a member of a team.
  • Computer skills strongly preferred.
  • Willing and able to participate in evening, weekend, and holiday coverage as needed.
Required Licensure/Certifications
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - American Association of Medical Assistants OR Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) - American Medical Technologists OR Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) – National Healthcareers Association plus DOL Registered Apprenticeships Certificate of Completion.
  • Current BLS certification required.
