Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Assistant in Winston-Salem, NC to join the University Group Practice. This full-time position offers 40 hours per week, schedule Monday to Friday 8:00am–5:00pm, and a pay range of $22.90 to $34.35 per hour.

You will perform routine clinical tasks under supervision and support patient flow in a fast-paced primary care setting. Ideal candidates have graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program, current AHA BLS, and at least two years of clinical

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required.
• Pediatric PEARS may be required within 1 year in select areas.
• Successful completion of Atrium Health’s competency assessment.
• Demonstrates professional practice advancement through governance, safety, or vaccine coordination.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and policies.
• Performs rooming/visit tasks including vitals, history, screenings.
• Assists provider with procedures and lab duties.
• Performs venipuncture and specimen handling; POCT per orders.
• Administers medications and vaccines following rights of administration.
• Manage referrals, scheduling, and patient communication.
