Zusammenfassung

Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC seeks a Medical Assistant II to support the bariatric program with essential clinical and administrative tasks. The role is full time, 40 hours per week, with a schedule of Monday–Friday 7am-4pm and typical half-day during the week.

Responsibilities include rooming patients, vitals, med reconciliation, lab work, and assisting providers with procedures. Requires MA training, AHA BLS, and CMA/RMA certification with two years clinical MA experience.

Qualifikationen

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Completed accredited Medical Assistant program or clinical training per DD214 in lieu.
  • Current AHA BLS certification.
  • CMA or RMA certification from AAMA, NHA, NCCT, AMT, NAHP, NRMA, ARMA or NAHP.
  • Two years of clinical MA experience.

Aufgaben

  • Perform rooming tasks: vitals, history, meds reconciliation, screenings.
  • Assist provider with procedures and tests as ordered.
  • Lab duties: venipuncture, specimen handling, POCT per orders.
  • Administer meds and vaccines following safety protocols.
  • Duties include scheduling, referrals, insurance authorizations and patient messaging.

  • Typically includes 1 half day during the week

Pay Range: $22.90 - $34.35

The Medical Assistant II supports the care team by performing clinical and administrative tasks that are vital to patient care. Medical Assistant IIs must adhere to all relevant regulations and guidelines to ensure patient safety and confidentiality. They are expected to maintain a high level of professionalism and compassion during all interactions.

Education & Experience Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or may have completed structured military training which is clinical in nature per DD214 in lieu of a formal medical assistant program or EM
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification
  • Recognized or certified as a CMA or RMA by one of the following National Organizations: American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), National Health Career Association (NHA), National Healthcare Worker's Association (NHCWA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA) American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP), National Registry of Medical Assistants (NRMA)
  • Two years of experience in a clinical practice setting as a Medical Assistant.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice, follows all policies and procedures, and maintains training and competency based on area of specialty when providing patient care.
  • Performs rooming/visit tasks such as vital signs, medication reconciliation, medical history, health maintenance, allergy review, and screenings (depression, suicide, falls, social drivers of health, etc.).
  • Assists provider with or performs procedures as ordered.
  • Performs lab related duties such as venipuncture, specimen collection/labeling/packing, preparation of lab orders/requisitions, and results tracking. Point of Care testing (POCT) per standing order/provider order. Completes Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) approved waived laboratory tests and practice-specific diagnostic testing in adherence to CLIA standards. T
  • Administers medications and vaccines safely following the rights of medication administration.
  • Performs other duties as assigned such as medication refills, insurance authorizations, safety/regulatory log completion, patient messaging, medication/supply ordering, appointment scheduling, and referrals.
  • Demonstrates effective and timely communication, teamwork, and appropriate escalation.
  • Maintains a clean work environment ensuring instruments and equipment are cleaned appropriately. Ensures equipment and supplies are in working order, and areas are appropriately stocked.
  • May assist with training and onboarding of other teammates.
  • May serve as a role champion or on a committee.
  • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Age-specific information is developed further in the departmental job standards.
Required Skills:
  • Ability to perform routine and complex technical skills, within the Medical Assistant scope of practice after demonstrated competency.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to develop rapport and maintain positive, professional relationships with a variety of patients, team members and physicians.
  • Proficient computer skills including keyboarding, navigation within a windows operating system, and use of electronic mail with exposure to electronic medical records systems.
  • Demonstrates customer service skills that support a positive patient experience.
