Job summary

CENTRAL VIRGINIA HEALTH SERVICES INC. seeks a Medical Assistant to support clinicians across ages from infancy to geriatrics. You will perform nursing procedures, assist in lab duties when assigned, and help keep the patient flow smooth.

Accurate inventory; familiarity with medical office systems; and respect for confidentiality are essential. Prior health-facility experience and CPR certification are preferred; training programs are valued. This is a full-time, on-site role in Petersburg, VA.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant or Allied Health Training program.
• Certification achieved by passing a National exam from a program other than the MA school.
• Proof of re-certification, if applicable.
• One year’s experience in a health facility, preferred.
• Current CPR certification, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs nursing procedures as directed by the clinician according to the Nursing Procedure Manual.
• Maintains accurate inventory of medical supplies; assists in the selection of division equipment and supplies.
• Assists in quality assurance and control; supports efficient patient flow.
• Attends work as scheduled and performs related duties as assigned.
