Job summary

WK Medical Center in Shreveport, LA seeks a bright medical assistant to support pulmonary physicians in a busy practice. The ideal candidate will handle preauthorization, schedule tests and procedures, and order Oxygen and supplies for patients.

They will work closely with insurers on pre-authorizations for medical supplies, medications, tests and procedures. They will obtain O2 saturations, vitals, and EKG if necessary, answer and return phone calls, and take vital signs.

Qualifications

• Familiar with taking vital signs and patient assessment.
• Experience with preauthorization processes.
• Ability to coordinate tests and procedures with physicians and insurance providers.

Responsibilities

• Assist pulmonary physicians in a busy practice.

We are looking for a bright, energetic medical assistant that can assist our pulmonary physicians in managing their busy practice. The ideal candidate will be familiar with preauthorization, scheduling patients for tests and procedures, ordering Oxygen and supplies for patients. They will work closely with the insurance companies with pre-authorizations for medical supplies, medications, tests and procedures. They will obtain O2 saturations, VS, EKG if necessary, answer and return phone calls, taking vital signs. Critical thinking and good communication skills are a must. Will need to be able to manage the enterprise computer system.

Hospital and departmental orientation will be provided upon completion of the hiring process, as well as training of our employees. A strong benefit package was provided and a competitive salary. Hours are 8am to 5pm. Monday through Friday.
