Job summary

WK Medical Center in Shreveport, LA is seeking a highly motivated Medical Assistant to serve as a full-time float across five campuses. The position supports Endocrinology, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, OB/Gyn and Hematology/Oncology clinics, handling patient triage, vaccines, EKGs and routine procedures.

Hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, with a comprehensive benefits package and competitive salary.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assess patients using verbal and technical skills and triage as needed.
• Assist with medication management including vaccines and reconciliation.
• Perform EKGs, breathing treatments, and assist in clinical procedures.
• Work with insurance to complete referrals and preauthorizations for labs, X-ray, procedures and surgeries.
• Assist in scheduling tests and procedures.

We are seeking a highly motivated, self-directed medical assistant that can work at all 5 campuses. This position will be a full-time floating position. These clinics include Endocrinology, Pediatric, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Ob/Gyn and Hematology/ Oncology.

Job Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited To

• Assessment of patients utilizing verbal and technical skills, triaging patients.
• Assist in medication management, including vaccine management, administering routine medications, medication reconciliation and medication storage.
• Perform EKG, breathing treatments, and assist in clinical procedures.
• Work with insurance companies in completing referrals and on preauthorization for lab, X-ray, procedures and surgeries.
• Assist in scheduling tests and procedures.

Qualifications

• A person that is dependable with strong work ethics.
• Good communication and computer skills are required.

The clinic hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. An excellent replacement benefit package and salary are offered.
