Job summary

University Hospitals Pain Management is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support in an outpatient setting. Responsibilities include rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, documenting in the EMR, assisting with procedures, and supporting providers to promote efficient patient flow and patient-centered care.

In addition to clinical duties, the role covers front desk tasks such as scheduling, collecting payor information, and managing patient documentation.

• Performs patient centered care delegated by Provider.
• Provides a safe environment for patients.

A Brief Overview

The Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support in an outpatient setting. This role includes but not limited to rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, documenting in the electronic medical record, assisting with procedures, supporting providers, and promoting efficient patient flow while delivering patient-centered care.

• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
