Medical Assistant I: Specialty clinic float - New Rates of Pay and $2,000 Sign-on Bonus Available

Join Akron Children's as a Medical Assistant I: Specialty clinic float. We offer new pay rates and a $2,000 sign-on bonus.

Position Details
  • Schedule: 7:30am to 4:30pm, onsite with travel required to Medina, Beachwood, Boston Heights, North Canton, Wooster, and Mansfield offices.
  • Full-time, 40 hours/week
  • Sign-on Bonus: $2,000 (taxable)
Role Summary

The Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support for patients under the supervision of a Provider and/or licensed Nurse.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for examination, take vital signs, perform phlebotomy, and administer medications as directed.
  • Collect data for patient assessment and discharge planning under nurse supervision.
  • Process and submit laboratory specimens following policy.
  • Communicate findings to Providers/Nurses and document within EPIC system accurately and timely.
  • Assist with appointment scheduling, visit prep, co-payment collection, and patient tracking.
  • Perform department-specific clinical duties such as POCT, hearing and vision screenings.
  • Handle routine office duties like faxing, copying, and filing.
  • Maintain examination rooms and develop positive patient relationships.
  • Follow safety policies to ensure a safe environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Experience in phlebotomy preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology required.
  • Experience in healthcare environment preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required; experience with EPIC preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of an approved Medical Assistant, EMT, or Paramedic Program required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Medical Assistant certification preferred.
  • No prior experience required.
