Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care in a fast-paced clinical setting. You will perform rooming, vital signs, history taking, screenings, and assist with procedures while ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to CLIA guidelines.

The role includes lab duties, medication administration, vaccines, and coordination of referrals and authorizations. Strong communication and teamwork are essential to provide age-appropriate patient care.

Qualifications

• Two years of clinical Medical Assistant experience.
• Completion of an accredited MA program or structured military training in lieu of a formal MA program.
• Current CMA or RMA certification or eligible for one.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows policies and procedures.
• Performs rooming tasks: vital signs, medical history, health maintenance, allergy review, and screenings.
• Assists provider with or performs procedures as ordered.
• Performs lab duties: venipuncture, specimen handling, POCT, CLIA waived tests in accordance with standards.
• Administers medications and vaccines per medication administration rights.
• Handles tasks such as refills, authorizations, scheduling, and referrals.
• Maintains clean work environment; ensures equipment and supplies are stocked and functioning.
• May assist with training and onboarding of teammates and participate in committees.
• Demonstrates age-appropriate care and communication across patient life span.
