Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; CPR certification required.
• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant or graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program.

Responsibilities

• Assists with patient flow within outpatient clinic.
• Responds promptly to call-lights and provides comfort to patients and families.
• Performs technical patient care tasks: obtains vital signs, documents chief complaint, uses aseptic technique, collects specimens, obtains blood, runs basic tests, and assists with procedures.
• Refills patient medications as directed under physician guidelines and safely administers meds as assigned.
• Documents and communicates interventions and measurements; maintains accurate clinic records.
• Assists with medication reconciliation, equipment maintenance, and maintains a clean and safe environment.
• Supports patient rights and confidentiality; communicates professionally with patients, families, and coworkers.
• Participates in quality improvement activities, remains productive, and supports teamwork and ongoing education.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)

Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program
