Job summary

Mount Sinai Medical Center is preparing for the flu season and seeks a Temp Medical Assistant to support the Occupational Health Center from August to December. The role may be filled by an MA II or III, with certification optional.

Hours are flexible, with Monday–Friday and occasional weekends and night shifts. Responsibilities include assisting physicians, performing audiometric and EKG testing, collecting specimens, and conducting drug screenings.

Qualifications

• Experience with patient examinations and procedures.
• Ability to perform audiometric and pulmonary function testing.
• Knowledge of EKG procedures and vital signs routine.
• Experience drawing blood and handling specimens.
• Familiarity with drug screening procedures and documentation.
• BLS certification required or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with examinations and procedures.
• Perform audiometric, pulmonary function, tonometry and vision testing.
• Draw blood for tests and ensure timely lab processing.
• Conduct DOT and non-DOT drug screenings per protocol.
• Record results, maintain documentation and ensure chart readiness.
• Support on-call, evening and weekend shifts as needed.

Certified or non- certifiedHours are flexibles.
