Responsibilities

Medical Assistant I provides supportive patient care functions for an assigned clinical area, under the supervision of a Physician, Registered Nurse, or Licensed Vocational Nurse, ensuring the safety and comfort of patients and families according to legal, organizational, and professional standards. Some duties may be delegated to the MA by the physician or RN.

Medical Assistant II/III provides supportive patient care functions for an assigned clinical area, under the supervision of a Physician, Registered Nurse, or Licensed Vocational Nurse, ensuring the safety and comfort of patients and families according to legal, organizational, and professional standards. Some duties may be delegated to the MA by the physician or RN. This position requires additional duties, including administration of injectables and other high-level skill performances.

Job Type: Full Time

Salary Range: $39,179 – $57,548 (Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.)

Qualifications

Education

Required: High School Diploma or GED; graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program or school.

Preferred: N/A

Experience

Required:

  • MA I: Entry-level role. No experience required with Certification/Registration as a Medical Assistant, or 1 year of directly related experience without certification.
  • MA II: 5 years of directly related experience with Certification/Registration, or 6 years without.
  • MA III: 8 years with Certification/Registration, or 9 years without.

Note: Employees in role before November 24, 2024, will be grandfathered based on previous experience.

Additional experience in customer service, cash handling, collections, or phlebotomy may be required for certain roles.

Preferred: Ambulatory Care experience for all levels.

License(s): Required: N/A; Preferred: N/A

Special Skills

Required: Completion of review/skill validation within 90 days, equipment use proficiency, computer skills, basic medical/nursing terminology.

Preferred: Windows-based computer skills, EPIC experience.

Other

Required:

  • MA I: BLS through American Heart Association
  • MA II/III: BLS certification through American Heart Association
  • Complete module-specific programs (e.g., Immunizations, Wound Care)
