SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Situated on the West Shore of Harrisburg, the Penn State Health Andrews Patel Hematology Oncology Camp Hill office is seeking a Medical Assistant to join the team! This office operates during week-day/daytime hours, so enjoy your weekends, evenings, and holidays at your leisure!

The designated Medical Assistant will be completing an array of duties, including rooming patients, medication reconciliation, and vital measurements/recordings. This position will also include administrative tasks that center upon chart-prepping, consistent patient communication in follow-up and addressing inquiries, as well as working on various reports. Other tasks may include asynchronous provider support and other duties, as assigned.

The ideal Medical Assistant for this position will show consistency and punctuality in each shift completed, as well as demonstrate compassion and patience. Handling an average of 80 patients per day, the ideal MA will have experience in multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced office. This team takes team building and teamwork seriously through FUN Fridays filled with great activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

  1. High School diploma or equivalent required.
  2. Must meet current eligibility to sit for the exam with attainment of certification or registration through one of the Penn State Health approved agencies for Medical Assistants within 90 days of employment date or current active status as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through one of the Penn State Health approved agencies for Medical Assistant certification required.
  3. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or must obtain BLS Certification within 6 months of employment date.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):

  1. Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program
  2. Previous outpatient experience preferred.
