• Completion of a Medical Assistant or related healthcare training program preferred.
• Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for above requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate clinic schedule and patient placement, assist with procedures and prep patients for examinations.
• Triage patients for appointment intake, obtain medical/social histories, prep for exams, assist during examinations.
• Under supervision, send refills, perform EKGs or testing, administer medications/vaccines, and assist with in-office procedures.
• Prepare and administer medications and vaccines as directed by licensed provider.
• Contact patients with results and provide education as directed by provider.
• Perform administrative duties including scheduling, filing records, completing insurance forms, and arranging admissions/referrals.
• Document all patient interactions in the EMR.
• Maintain infection control practices and safe examination room environments.
• Manage appointment schedules, obtain necessary medical records, coordinate with insurance for authorizations.
• Ensure exam rooms are stocked and supplies are ordered.
• Assist with basic coding and preauthorization work; act as patient advocate.
