Medical Assistant I Float - New Rates of Pay and $2,000 Sign on bonus available

Position Details
  • Full-time, 40 hours/week
  • Variable day shift
  • Onsite, travel required to Ashland, Ontario, and Mansfield offices
  • $2,000 sign-on bonus [taxable]
Summary

The Medical Assistant role provides clinical and administrative support for patients under the direction of a Provider and/or licensed Nurse.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for examination, take and record vital signs, perform phlebotomy as needed, administer medications as directed.
  • Collect data for assessment and evaluation of patient needs, including discharge plans, under supervision.
  • Process and submit laboratory specimens according to policy.
  • Communicate patient findings to Providers and Nurses using appropriate documentation.
  • Document care accurately within the EPIC system.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as appointment scheduling, visit prep, co-payment collection, and patient tracking.
  • Carry out department-specific clinical duties like POCT, hearing and vision screenings.
  • Perform routine office duties (faxing, copying, filing).
  • Maintain examination rooms and develop positive relationships with patients and staff.
  • Follow safety policies to ensure a safe environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Experience in phlebotomy preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology required.
  • Experience in healthcare preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EPIC) preferred.
Education & Certification
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of an approved Medical Assistant, EMT, or Paramedic program required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.
  • Medical Assistant certification preferred.
  • No prior experience required.
