Responsibilities
  • Facilitate patient visits, ensuring timely care and high patient satisfaction. Monitor and respond to task boxes.
  • Prepare exam rooms and assist providers with procedures and patient check-in.
  • Perform vital signs, measurements, obtain medical history, and complete health reminders.
  • Accurately record medical information and notes in patient charts; ensure smooth patient flow.
  • Maintain clinic supplies, disinfect, sterilize instruments, and operate autoclave.
  • Communicate professionally with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Collaborate with peers and seek guidance from supervisors as needed.
  • Contribute to record-keeping, lab sample processing, and compliance with safety protocols.
  • Participate in meetings and community initiatives.
  • Strive towards department goals and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Develop competencies for Medical Assistant II duties as proficiency increases.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program with Florida certification, or EMT/Paramedic certification
  • Current BLS certification
  • Preferred: One year of clinical experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Epic certification and compliance training
Physical and Working Conditions
  • Lift 20 lbs regularly; 30-50 lbs occasionally
  • Sit for extended periods
  • Travel between centers as needed
  • Work with computers and may be exposed to infectious diseases
