Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a Medical Assistant I in New York, NY to provide clinical office support, assist with patient care, and help coordinate care with physicians and nurses. You will perform vital signs, phlebotomy, EKGs, and documentation in the EMR while supporting front desk and clinical operations.

The role requires completing an accredited Medical Assistant program with CMA/RMA certification, and working within a team to ensure timely patient care and quality service.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma/Equivalent.
• Completion of a certificate Medical Assistant program from an approved school; certification required.
• CMA/RMA - National Certification Required.

Responsibilities

• Assists the provider during patient visit via obtaining vital signs and documenting results in EMR.
• Obtains prior authorizations for prescriptions and durable medical equipment.
• Drafts prescription requests in EMR and sends to provider for review.
• Performs Phlebotomy and POCT with documentation in EMR.
• Performs EKGs when ordered and supports care coordination during daily huddles.
