Job summary

Nemours Children's Health in Delaware seeks Medical Assistants to support patient intake, data collection, and clinical procedures under provider direction. The roles span MA I–MA III with progression based on experience and certifications.

Responsibilities include coordinating patient flow, documenting histories, and performing clinical tasks per protocol. Availability Monday–Friday with extended hours may be required.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Must complete a certified Medical Assistant program or MA certification.
  • Must obtain BLS through AHA within 90 days.
  • Basic clinical and administrative skills.

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Must obtain BLS through AHA within 90 days
  • Completion of a certified Medical Assistant program or MA certification required (see below)
  • Acceptable certifications are Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) and Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), National Healthcare Association (NHA)
  • Basic clinical and administrative skills.
Medical Assistant II
  • Requires a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Must obtain BLS through AHA within 90 days
  • Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or certification as a medical assistant through an alternate pathway
  • Certification required (see below)
  • Acceptable certifications are Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) and Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in clinical and administrative tasks.
  • Mentor and train new Medical Assistants.
Medical Assistant III
  • Requires 5+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Must obtain BLS through AHA within 90 days
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program required
  • Certification required (see below)
  • Acceptable certifications are Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) and Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)
  • Advanced clinical and administrative skills.
  • Involvement in quality improvement initiatives and advanced patient care.
  • Serves as a coach, preceptor, and mentor to new medical assistant associate
Must be available to work Monday- Friday between the hours of 7:30am -7:00pm. This role requires evening hours and supports clinic closing responsibilities.
