SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Want the opportunity to help cultivate tomorrow’s generation? Join the Penn State Health All About Children clinic! Providing general primary care for pediatric patients, this clinic averages 85-120 patients/day, so no two days are ever alike!
The hired Medical Assistant will be expected to room patients, handle Point-of-Care Testing, administer vaccinations/immunizations, perform phlebotomy, and oversee portions of staff development/training.
The ideal Medical Assistant will have prior clinical experience with the pediatric population and foster good teamwork within the office. Strong soft skills are a great tool to interact with both parent and patient alike. The MA will be required to complete at least two late evenings and one early morning shift per week. The office is closed on weekends and holidays, so be sure to apply!
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Must meet current eligibility to sit for the exam with attainment of certification or registration through one of the Penn State Health approved agencies for Medical Assistants within 90-days of employment date or current active status as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through one of the Penn State Health approved agencies for Medical Assistant certification required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or must obtain BLS Certification within 6 months of employment date.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program
- Previous outpatient experience preferred.
