Job summary

CaroMont Medical Group - CaroMont Neurology is seeking a Part Time Medical Assistant (MA I) to support clinical tasks and front office duties within a credentialed practice.

Responsibilities include patient prep, exam room maintenance, lab specimen handling, referrals authorizations, and maintaining patient confidentiality in a team-based care setting. BLS is required and ongoing credentialing must be kept current.

Qualifications

• BLS required.
• Must have and maintain current credentialing with AAMA-CMA, AMT-RMA, NCCT-NCMA, NHA-CCMA, NHCWA, ARMA, NAHP, NRMA or NCMA-RCMA.

• Front office duties: greeting and welcoming patients, customer service, collecting co-payments, scheduling appointments, updating demographics, obtaining referrals and pre-certifications, and other clerical duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Returns phone messages to patients, pharmacies, etc. Collects and prepares lab specimens/lab requisitions accurately. Schedules and obtains authorizations for referrals and/or procedures. Maintains patient confidentiality. Supports and functions under the direction of the care team with various office and clinical duties to keep the healthcare practice running efficiently. This includes tasks such as patient intake at office visit, exceptional patient care, documentation, vaccine and medication administration, clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks. Provides front office support duties including, but not limited to: greeting and welcoming patients, providing excellent customer service both in-person and over the phone, collecting co-payments, scheduling appointments, updating missing patient demographics, obtaining referrals and pre-certifications, and other clerical duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. BLS required. Must have and maintain current credentialing with American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA-CMA), American Medical Technologists (AMT-RMA), National Center for Competency Training (NCCT-NCMA), National Healthcareer Association (NHA-CCMA), National Healthcare Workers Association (NHCWA), American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA), National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP), National Registry of Medical Assistants (NRMA) or National Certification Medical Association-Registered Clinical Medical Assistant Specialist ( NCMA-RCMA) .Successful completion of approved Medical Group competency assessment within 8 weeks of hire.
