Qualifications

Job Overview

Typical Job Responsibilities
  • Taking vital signs such as pulse and blood pressure
  • Updating patient records with medications, allergies, and other information
  • Performing medical procedures, specimen collection, and lab testing
Role Expectations

Medical Assistants support the delivery of cost-effective, clinically competent healthcare by following Providence Medical Group’s core values: Justice, Excellence, Dignity, Integrity, and Compassion. They work under the delegation of licensed practitioners, performing duties that include maintaining patient records, preparing examination rooms, and assisting physicians during exams. All tasks are performed in accordance with policies, procedures, and regulations.

  • Hematology Oncology at Providence Portland Medical Center (NE Portland, OR)
  • Hematology Oncology at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center (SW Portland, OR)
  • Oncology in Newberg (Newberg, OR)
  • Willamette Falls Oncology (Oregon City, OR)

We offer a $2,000 sign-on bonus for eligible rehire and external candidates meeting all conditions, in addition to our comprehensive benefits package starting from your first day.

Qualifications
Associate Medical Assistant (MAI)
  • Graduate of an accredited school with hands-on clinical training, or
  • Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program, or
  • Completed two years of medical training in the U.S. Armed Forces, or
  • At least one year of clinical work experience as a medical assistant (vital signs, injections, medication administration)
  • Upon hire: BLS certification from the American Heart Association
  • Experience in a clinical setting (0-6 months)
Preferred Qualifications
  • High customer service experience in a fast-paced environment (6 months)
  • Experience working with Electronic Health Records (EHR) (6 months)

Salary Range in Oregon: Min $20.38 - Max $30.54

Medical Assistant (MAII)
  • Same educational requirements as MAI, plus:
  • Minimum one year of clinical experience, including vital signs, injections, medication administration
  • 6 months healthcare experience
  • 6 months Medical Assistant experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • National Medical Assistant Certification upon hire

Salary Range in Oregon: Min $22.21 - Max $33.98
