Job summary

US Foot & Ankle Specialists is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our growing podiatry practice. You will work alongside our podiatrists providing hands-on patient care in a professional, fast-paced outpatient setting.

Hands-on training and ongoing clinical training are provided. Starting pay is $20–$22 per hour based on experience, with benefits including health, life, and disability insurance, a 401(k) with company match, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program or 1+ year of clinical experience.
• Experience with medical terminology.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to travel between local office locations.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).

Responsibilities

• Welcome, room, and prepare patients for exams and in-office procedures
• Take vitals, update medical histories, record medications/allergies, and document in the EMR
• Assist physicians with minor procedures, post-op care, digital X-rays, and basic podiatric services
• Apply dressings, DME, and provide patient instructions and education
• Manage lab specimens, complete insurance verifications and pre-authorizations, and process prescriptions as directed
• Make post-operative phone calls, answer patient questions, and provide excellent customer service
• Open, prep, clean, and close exam rooms; sterilize instruments; manage inventory and supplies
• Maintain accurate documentation, support back-office operations, and ensure HIPAA compliance
