Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Medical Assistant in Brick Township, NJ to support physicians and enhance patient care in a busy ambulatory setting. You will measure vital signs, collect patient histories, assist with exams, perform routine screenings, perform phlebotomy, educate patients, and ensure accurate documentation while adhering to OSHA standards.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, AHA BLS certification, and preferably 2–3 years of MA experience; the company offers

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to interact effectively with varying populations in a supportive manner.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Knowledge of computerized processes and data entry procedures.

Responsibilities

• Measure and record vital signs.
• Record patient interview, history and chief complaint.
• Provide patient education on policies, medications, management of disease, home treatments and diets.
• Assist the physician with exams and minor office surgery.
• Prepare patients for examinations and perform routine screening tests.
• Change dressings, apply bandages, remove sutures and other first aid procedures.
• Use CPR skills when required.
• Maintain supplies, equipment, stocking and sterilization of instruments.
• Practice OSHA safety standards.
• Document accurately, legally and ethically at all times.
• Triage patient phone calls / review prescriptions as directed by physician.
• Perform phlebotomy.
• Other duties as assigned.
