St. Peter's Health Partners in the Capital Region seeks a Medical Assistant for the New Schenectady Primary Care Office, NY, FT.

The role supports nurses and physicians, performs vital signs, and handles patient intake in a busy primary care setting. You will manage referrals, documentation in the EMR, and front-end tasks to improve revenue cycle metrics while maintaining HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Medical Assistant Training Program.
• Holds National Medical Assistant Certification: CMA, CCMA, RMA.
• Experience with an electronic health record system.
• Commitment to confidentiality and respect.

Responsibilities

• Escort patient to exam room and document vital signs in the EMR.
• Respond to patient concerns appropriately and professionally.
• Complete referrals and obtain pre-authorizations as needed.
• Follow procedures for specimen collection and handling.
• Schedule, check-in, and check-out when performing front-end tasks.
• Process charges and end-of-day tasks as part of revenue cycle.
• Maintain room stock, cleanliness and adherence to PCMH standards.
• Ensure patient data privacy and HIPAA compliance.
• Communicate with providers and team members to ensure quality care.
• Cross-cover other areas as needed.
