Job summary

Spire Orthopedic Partners, a growing orthopedic network, seeks a Medical Assistant in Wakefield to support patient care. You will work within the Ortho Rhode Island team to ensure a highly personalized patient experience and efficient care delivery.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, preparing exam rooms, assisting providers with histories, vitals, injections, and chart prep while maintaining HIPAA/OSHA compliance and accurate medical records.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Formal training as a medical assistant or certification as a medical assistant (preferred).
• Any combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes patients by greeting them, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries
• Prepares patients for the health care visit by accompanying them to exam room; providing exam gowns; arranging examining room instruments, supplies, and equipment
• Assist providers in the treatment of patients by obtaining histories and vitals, preparing injections, setting up sterile fields, suture removal, dressing changes
• Cast applications and DME applications as necessary
• Verifying patient’s medical record is complete and accurate for medical coding purposes
• Triage patient calls and physician messages
• Maintain exams rooms with adequate medical supplies and sterilization as required
• Preparing patient charts before patient arrival
• Scheduling follow up appointments, initial therapy visits, and MRI appointments
• Compliance with HIPAA and OSHA regulations
• Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
