Job summary

ExpressCare Urgent Care Centers in Maryland seeks a Medical Assistant to support providers and ensure a smooth patient experience. You will conduct triage, document histories in the EMR, take vital signs, and assist with basic lab procedures and medication administration.

The role requires completion of an accredited MA program with externship, CPR certification, and at least one year of clinical experience preferred. A comprehensive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program and clinical externship.
• CMA/RMA/CCMA Certification preferred.
• CPR Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Medical history intake: Perform a detailed triage and document patient information in the EMR.
• Vital sign measurement: Measure and record blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, and height/weight.
• Basic lab procedures: Perform simple tests such as EKGs, phlebotomy, urine collection, and influenza swabs.
• Medication administration: Prepare and administer oral and injectable medications under physician supervision.
• Exam room preparation: Set up exam rooms with necessary instruments and supplies.
• Patient Education: Provide patients with basic health information and discharge instructions.
