Responsibilities

• Assist with patient intake by collecting medical histories, updating records, and verifying insurance information using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
• Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to assist clinicians in assessing patient health.
• Manage medical records efficiently, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions, offering instructions for upcoming procedures, and ensuring comfort throughout visits.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting, preferably within gastroenterology or related specialties.
• Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and EMR/EHR management tools.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications like Medical Assisting are highly desirable.
• Prior experience with inpatient settings or hospital environments is preferred.
• Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with diverse populations.
• Ability to perform clinical tasks such as vital signs collection, medication administration, and specimen collection accurately and efficiently.
• Knowledge of medical office management practices including scheduling, documentation, and administrative support functions.
