Gastro Health is seeking a Full-Time Medical Assistant to join our team in a dynamic gastroenterology clinic. The role emphasizes front-desk coordination, patient flow, chart updates, and collaborative care under physician supervision.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years experience as a medical assistant (AAMA certification preferred).
  • Medical terminology knowledge required.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and room patients and manage patient flow.
  • Update patient charts with accurate documentation.
  • Manage phone triage and take appropriate action under provider direction.
  • Assist with treatments and procedures per physician orders.
  • Educate patients and provide personal care for comfort and well-being.
  • Process prescription refills under clinic protocol.
  • Demonstrate positive interpersonal relationships with staff and providers.
  • Support cross-functional duties to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Follow OSHA and health department safety guidelines.

Duties you will be responsible for:
  • Greet and room patients, ensuring appropriate patient flow
  • Update patient's medical chart with accurate and timely documentation
  • Manage phone triage and take appropriate action under the direction of the provider
  • Demonstrate ability and appropriate technical skills when administering treatments and procedures in accordance with physician's orders
  • Provide patient education as well as personal patient care to provide comfort and well‑being to acknowledge physiological and psychological needs
  • Under direction from providers, process refills for prescriptions following clinic protocol
  • Demonstrates positive interpersonal relationships in dealing with fellow clinic employees, managers and providers
  • Take direction and initiate actions that will allow cross‑functional duties to ensure seamless patient care
  • Follow safety procedures in compliance with OSHA and state health department guidelines
Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 2+ years experience as a medical assistant (AAMA certification preferred)
  • Medical terminology knowledge required
