Job summary

Henry Ford Health - Jackson is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the Gastroenterology team. You will greet patients, collect histories and vital signs, prepare for exams, and assist providers to ensure efficient and compassionate patient care.

The role requires MA program completion with externship or equivalent experience, and current BLS-C certification. On-site position at the Jackson campus with general clinical and administrative duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; MA program with externship (160 hours) completed preferred.
• Current BLS-C certification at hire or by end orientation.
• EPIC/EMR experience preferred and beneficial.

What You Will Need

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160-hour minimum), or equivalent experience as outlined in the job description.
• Current BLS-C certification upon hire or successful completion by the end of orientation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
• EPIC (Electronic Medical Record) experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160 hour minimum).
• Graduate from a Medical Assistant program without completion of a clinical externship but with a minimum one-year experience in clinical medical assisting within the past five (5) years.
• Current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with a minimum of one year of experience in clinical medical assisting.
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
• Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years.
• Military trained medical personnel with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years.
• Must Successfully complete all components of Ambulatory orientation as defined by Henry Ford Health.
