Job summary

Henry Ford Medical Center – Woodhaven in Woodhaven, MI is seeking a Medical Assistant to join the Family Medicine team. The role supports patient care under providers and nursing leadership, handling clinical and administrative tasks to ensure a seamless patient experience.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, taking histories, recording vitals, assisting with exams, and performing clerical duties to keep the practice running smoothly. Monday–Friday schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Graduate of Medical Assistant program with 160-hour externship or graduate with 1 year clinical experience within past five years.
• Current BLS-C upon hire or by end of orientation.
• EPIC experience preferred.

What You Will Need

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160-hour minimum), OR Graduate from a Medical Assistant program without completion of a clinical externship but with a minimum one-year experience in clinical medical assisting within the past five (5) years, OR Current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with a minimum of one year of experience in clinical medical assisting, OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), OR Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one-year clinical experience in a clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years, OR Military trained medical personnel with at least one-year clinical experience in a clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years.
• Current BLS-C upon hire or successful completion by the end of orientation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
• EPIC (Electronic Medical Record) experience.
