Responsibilities include assisting physicians/providers with patient care, rooming patients, clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks. Responsible for appointment scheduling and chart management. Provides information to patients to help them utilize practice services effectively. Conveys a positive image of the practice.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient care responsibilities as assigned, including identifying self to patients and explaining team roles.
• Handle administrative duties such as managing patient records and abstracting new patient information into EPIC.
• Set up instruments and equipment according to protocol.
• Maintain patient confidentiality, autonomy, and dignity.
• Assist with or perform chaperone duties during medical procedures as needed.

Qualifications

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent. Graduation from an accredited medical assistant program preferred. Certification/Registration (CCMA/CMA/AAMA/RMA) preferred but may be accepted in lieu of formal education.

Experience

Minimum of 1 year private practice medical assistant experience preferred.

Licensure

Medical assisting certification preferred.

Skills

Excellent organizational, communication, customer service, and teamwork skills. Ability to multitask. EMR experience and Microsoft Office knowledge preferred. CPR certification preferred. Bilingual skills are a plus.
