About our Program: Graduated students interested in pursuing a career in a medical/healthcare related field are encouraged to consider this opportunity. Specifically, this is an excellent experience for students planning a career as a Physician, Physician Assistant, or Nurse Practitioner who plan a "gap year" before matriculation to professional school. Our program is committed to providing a holistic understanding of the healthcare landscape, preparing interns for the challenges and responsibilities that lie ahead in their chosen health professions by exposing you to clinical and administrative roles within the practice.

Interns will gain comprehensive education and experience in all aspects of clinical operations and workflow, including patient education, rooming patients, taking histories & physicals, learning billing procedures, and other administrative responsibilities. Participants will explore outpatient specialty care within orthopedics, gaining insights and hands-on experience. Opportunities include shadowing surgical procedures and receiving mentoring from the Genesis Orthopedics & Sports Medicine clinical team.

As a Gap Year Intern, you'll work closely with healthcare professionals and administrative staff, gaining diverse experiences in patient care, operational efficiency, and healthcare delivery models. This role offers an unparalleled opportunity to understand the healthcare system, preparing you for advanced studies and future careers.

This is a full-time, one or two-year, paid position. Some part-time applicants with potential for transition to full-time may be accepted on a case-by-case basis.

Requirements:
