Job summary

Advocate Health in Wisconsin is seeking a licensed practical nurse (LPN) or Medical Assistant to join a busy clinic. You will support patient exams, perform basic lab procedures, administer routine medications under orders, and assist clinicians with exams and related testing.

You must hold an LPN license or a medical assistant credential, with BLS preferred; the role requires meticulous record-keeping, effective communication, and the ability to work within a team during standard business hours.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform routine and complex technical skills within the MA/LPN scope after training.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients and team.
• Proficient computer skills and knowledge of EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and rooms the patient for exam, obtaining vital signs and updating health information.
• Performs laboratory procedures (i.e., strep test, wound culture) using aseptic technique.
• Assists with procedures such as pelvic exams, allergy testing, EMG and colposcopy.
• Administers routine medications under orders or standing protocols.
• Recognizes and communicates patient needs; supports clinic flow and referrals.
• May perform advanced clinical tasks under supervision and handles age-specific care.
