Job Summary

The Medical Assistant will support Medical Providers, Radiologic Technologists, and patients through tasks such as patient care management, organization, and communication. The role requires accuracy, quality, timeliness, and alignment with our vision to become the urgent care partner of choice, emphasizing our core values of Collaboration, Innovation, Diversity and Inclusion, Integrity, and Accountability.

Job Requirements

Education: Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program preferred; 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience within the last 3 years preferred; CPOE must be obtained within 2 weeks if Medical Assistant Certification is not obtained upon hire; High school diploma or equivalent required.

Essential Functions

• Conduct patient registration, verify insurance, and schedule appointments.
• Coordinate provider referrals and answer patient questions.
• Prepare patients for examinations, record medical history, and perform preliminary tests.
• Conduct point of care testing as needed and provide results to providers.
• Maintain supplies, equipment, and medical records.
• Answer calls, handle correspondence, and perform opening/closing duties.
• Follow operating instructions for equipment calibration and maintenance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Excellent time management, multitasking, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software.
• Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures.

Certifications and Licenses

• Basic Life Support (BLS) required at hire.
• Certifications such as CCMA, CMA, RMA, NCMA, or NRCMA required within 15 months if not obtained at hire.
• Additional certifications or training may be required depending on state regulations.

Work Experience

Medical Assistant experience preferred, especially for graduates of Medical Assistant programs.
