Job summary

CareSpot in Saint Augustine, FL is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers with exams and procedures, triage patients, and manage vitals and charting. The role includes phlebotomy, specimen collection, administering medications under supervision, and preparing rooms for examinations.

Qualifications

• Graduation from MA, EMT, Paramedic or other relevant program.
• Active Registered Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant designation.
• 6 months of experience in a relevant environment.
• Licensed CNA with phlebotomy experience.
• Phlebotomy certification and 6 months of verifiable phlebotomy experience.
• 1 year of verifiable phlebotomy-focused experience in healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with exams, procedures and patient care.
• Triage patients, measure vitals and record charts.
• Blood draws, venipuncture, specimen collection and lab work.
• Administer medications and immunizations under provider direction.
• Prepare treatment rooms and bring patients from waiting to exam rooms.
• Check in/out patients; verify insurance; collect payments.

POSITION SUMMARY

What you’ll be doing

We are hiring a Medical Assistant to assist our providers with exams procedures and other processes to meet the specific needs of our patients including but not limited to Triaging patients measuring vitals and recording information on patients chartsBlood draws venipuncture specimen collection and completion of lab workAdministering medications and immunizations under provider directionSetting up procedures as instructed by providerPreparing treatment rooms for examinations and bringing patients from the waiting room to exam roomsChecking patients in and out; verifying insurance; collecting payments

What you’ll bring to the table

• Graduation from a Medical Assistant EMT Paramedic or other relevant program
• an active Registered Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant designation
• 6 months of experience in a relevant environment
• licensed CNA with phlebotomy experience
• possess phlebotomy certification and 6 months of verifiable experience with Phlebotomy
• 1 year of verifiable experience in a role where phlebotomy is the primary function Wed also prefer if you have prior recent experience in a healthcare setting such as an emergency department urgent care or other ambulatory clinic

A few requirements

• Graduate of one of the following programs Medical Assistant Emergency Medical Technician EMT A only Paramedic Radiologic Technologist or another relevant program
• or possesses active Registered Medical Assistant RMA or Certified Medical Assistant CMA designation
• or High School or GED AND 6 months of MA experience in a relevant environment
