Job summary

Scripps Health in Rancho San Diego is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to support the clinic and HealthExpress with patient care, registration, and vitals.

The role handles 25–50 patients daily, requires a formal MA program or MA certification (or military corpsman experience) and BLS certification. Shifts are 8 hours, with travel to HealthExpress locations as needed; benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program OR hold a Medical Assistant Certification OR have a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman.
• BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment
• Perform patient care services that support the providers and clinic
• Front Office responsibilities such as registration, scheduling, patient check-ins, collecting co-pays and check-outs
• Clinical support by checking patient vitals, rooming patients, stocking exam rooms, point of care duties, immunizations, Covid swabbing, and providing patient education
• Wide variety of acute care patients
• Patient volumes of 25 and up per day (sometimes as high as 50)
