Job summary

Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Connecticut is seeking a qualified Medical Assistant to join our care team. You will coordinate and provide care across age groups, support nursing processes, and work with a multidisciplinary health care team to ensure patient comfort and safety.

The role requires completion of a two-year accredited Medical Assistant program (preferred), English proficiency, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to operate clinical equipment.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served
• Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development
• Able to assess and interpret data reflective of the client’s status
• Provides care outlined in standards, policies and procedures
• Specialized departmental training to provide care to patients within the role
• Successful completion of SMH orientation
• Command of verbal and written English
• Positive interpersonal communication skills
• Good organizational skills
• Operation of clinical equipment
• Demonstration of clinical competence

Responsibilities

Job description

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40

Monday - Friday (8am - 4:30pm)

Coordinates and provides care for a group of patients spanning all age groups and cultures for a designated time frame using therapeutic means, the nursing process, the environment/instrumentation and other health care team members while assuming responsibility and accountability for these patients.

Salary Range: $19.85-$30.05

Salary Range Details

The pay range displayed on each job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set, and education. This is not inclusive of the value Sturdy Health’s benefits package (if applicable), which includes among other benefits, healthcare/dental/vision and retirement. For annual salaries this is based on full-time employment.
