Job summary

Schweiger Dermatology Group in Verona, NJ is seeking a Full-Time Medical Assistant to support clinical and clerical tasks in a fast-paced dermatology office. Prior healthcare experience is required and Nationally Certified Medical Assistant is preferred.

The Medical Assistant will assist physicians with medical, cosmetic and laser procedures, manage patient flow, maintain inventory and EMR records, and ensure a welcoming environment for patients throughout the visit.

Qualifications

• Dermatology experience preferred.
• Healthcare experience required.
• Nationally Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
• Experience using EMR software and patient scheduling systems.
• Must be computer savvy and familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.

• Open availability to work during weekdays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Schedule full-time shifts with rotating Saturdays and cover during operating hours 7am-7pm.
• Promote a professional, welcoming atmosphere to patients and providers.
• Assist physicians in medical, cosmetic and laser procedures.
• Record prescribed treatments, medications, biopsies, cultures, photos, prescriptions and prior authorizations.
• Support provider in patient flow and follow-up steps.
• Prep rooms and check equipment at shift start.
• Provide pre-care and post-care instructions as needed.
• Monitor inventory and stock supplies and equipment.
• Attend in-house training and continuing education opportunities.

Job Summary

Full‑Time Medical Assistant at our Verona, NJ Office. The Medical Assistant is responsible for performing the highest quality of medical, clinical, and clerical tasks in a medical setting. Previous healthcare experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Schedule: Full time, 30+ hours. Availability Monday through Friday with rotating Saturdays within operating hours of 7am-7pm. Open flexibility to help cover in a team environment is needed.
• Promote a professional and welcoming atmosphere to enhance quality of service and care offered to patients and for respective provider(s).
• Assist physician in medical, cosmetic and laser procedures.
• Assist provider in recording prescribed treatments, medications, biopsies, cultures, photos, prescriptions, prior authorization and procedures within established guidelines.
• Understand provider‑to‑patient flow and anticipate provider’s next steps to the best of their ability.
• Prep rooms before and after patients, including checking all equipment at the beginning of each shift to ensure all is in proper working order.
• Provide pre‑care and post‑care treatment instructions as needed.
• Daily scan all retail and cosmetic products and medical supplies and alert Head MA and/or GM of any low level supplies.
• Perform inventory responsibilities and stocking of supplies and equipment as requested.
• Attend all in‑house training and continued education opportunities.

Compensation

Hourly Pay Range: $19–24
