Job Description - MEDICAL ASSISTANT (FT; 40hrs/wk, Rotating)

The Medical Assistant for ReadyCare receives patients at the time of visit and supports the physicians and other clinical staff in the delivery of health care to patients by performing a variety of medically-related tasks to ensure smooth patient flow. Key responsibilities include reception duties, administrative and clerical support, and assistance with patient procedures. Responsibilities include:

  1. Greets and registers patients
  2. Completes forms
  3. Collects and enters patient demographic and billing information
  4. Prepares charts
  5. Reviews fee slips
  6. Maintains office filing system
  7. Updates electronic medical records as appropriate
  8. Collects payments in accordance with cash handling policies and procedures

Education
Non Degree Program: Graduate from a medical assistant program (Required)

Experience
1 Year experience providing medical assistance in a physician office, nursing facility, hospital or in lieu of 1-year CMA experience a combination of direct patient care and previous employment in non-clinical healthcare setting with proof of training and certifications. (Required)

License/Certifications
CCMA - Cert Clin Medical Assistant (Required) or CMA - Certified Medical Assistant (Required) or RMA - Registered Medical Assistant (Required)
IV-CERT - IV Certification (Preferred)
