Job Overview
The Front Office Medical Assistant Float is a vital member of the healthcare team, responsible for supporting both front office administrative functions and back office clinical duties across multiple departments, including the Women’s Center and Breast Clinic. This role ensures efficient patient flow, high-quality care, and excellent customer service. The float position requires flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Schedule
Full-time, Monday through Friday day shift position based out of our Scottsdale office Women's Center.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Front Office (Check-in/Check-out)
- Greet patients warmly and professionally.
- Register new patients and update demographic and insurance information.
- Collect and post payments; maintain and reconcile cash drawer.
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments.
- Answer and route phone calls; monitor fax server and patient callbacks.
- Prepare and distribute new patient paperwork and medical record requests.
- Maintain physician calendars and coordinate scheduling needs.
- Scan and upload documents into EMR; maintain accurate records.
- Ensure front desk organization and adherence to check-in/check-out protocols.
Back Office (Medical Assistant)
- Prepare exam rooms and assist with patient intake, including vital signs and medical history.
- Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments using sterile techniques.
- Administer injections and perform delegated clinical tasks under supervision.
- Schedule diagnostic tests and obtain prior authorizations.
- Maintain and sterilize medical equipment and supplies.
- Ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols.
Minimum Qualifications
- 1–2 years of medical office or clinical experience required.
- Experience in surgical or oncology settings preferred.
- Graduation from a medical assistant program required.
- National MA Certification required or must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, EMR systems, and general office equipment.
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA, insurance procedures, and medical terminology.
