Job summary

Preferred Primary Care Physicians is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant for a Pleasant Hills area practice. Prior physician office experience and ability to work in both front and back office settings are preferred. Phlebotomy skills are required.

The role supports physicians and nurses with patient care, clerical tasks, and electronic chart management. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and graduate from an accredited medical assistant program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; graduate from accredited medical assistant program.
• Six months of medical assistant experience preferred, open to new graduates.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to and from exam rooms; record vital signs, height/weight, allergies, medications, chief complaint.
• Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections as directed.
• Answer patient calls and coordinate prescriptions or referrals.
• Obtain patient records, labs, and test results as needed for physician review.
• Assist with examinations and scheduling of tests and follow-up appointments.
• Prepare and stock exam and treatment rooms; order supplies.
