Qualifications

• Associate degree in Medical Assisting; required coursework in Anatomy & Physiology, Medical Terminology, Clinic Assessment Procedures and Routine Clinic/Office Laboratory Testing.
• Certification as Medical Assistant by the American Association of Medical Assistants.

Responsibilities

• Schedule appointments, refer patients to health care providers, and prepare routine correspondence and billing documents.
• Perform and record routine clinical laboratory tests and vitals; collect blood samples via venipuncture or finger stick.
• Input patient data into computer systems and assist in patient examinations and procedures.
