Job summary

Power Personnel seeks a Medical Assistant for a pediatric clinic in Berkeley, CA. The role supports both front-office and back-office duties, including immunizations, vital signs, and patient flow.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years MA experience, a Medical Assistant diploma, BLS, and experience with Epic. The position starts ASAP, runs for 6 weeks with possible extension, and may convert to a permanent role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assistant Diploma from an approved school or equivalent training.
• Minimum 1–2 years of Medical Assisting experience.
• BLS - Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) required.
• Pediatric immunizations experience with back-office and Epic experience required.
• Pediatric experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide back-office clinical support in a Pediatrics setting.
• Room pediatric patients, document vital signs, and prepare for visits.
• Administer pediatric immunizations per protocols and document immunizations.
• Perform point-of-care testing as required.
• Maintain vaccine fridge/freezer temperatures and report concerns.
• Document patient information and clinical activities in EPIC.
• Answer calls, assist patient inquiries, schedule appointments, and verify insurance.
• Manage patient records and other required documentation.
• Provide front-office and back-office support as needed.
• Ensure confidentiality and compliance with procedures.
• Float to nearby offices as needed.

Responsibilities

• Administer pediatric immunizations according to established protocols and maintain accurate immunization documentation.
• Perform point-of-care testing (POCT) as required.
• Assist with maintaining and verifying appropriate vaccine refrigerator/freezer temperatures and report any concerns promptly.
• Accurately document patient information, clinical activities, immunizations, and other relevant details in EPIC.
• Answer incoming calls, assist with patient inquiries, and schedule and coordinate appointments.
• Perform insurance verification and assist with related front-office duties.
• Request, receive, scan, and maintain patient medical records and other required documentation.
• Provide both front-office and back-office support based on departmental needs.
• Maintain accurate and complete patient records while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with established procedures.
• Float to other nearby offices, as needed, to support staffing and patient-care needs.
• Perform other clinical and administrative duties as assigned.
