Job Summary

As a Medical Assistant at Clay Consulting, you will support the efficient operation of the clinic by providing administrative and clinical support. You will assist healthcare providers and claimants through tasks related to VA Claim Exams (C&P Exams). Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in medical procedures are essential for success.

Responsibilities
  • Interview patients to obtain comprehensive medical histories, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Prepare clinical charts and conduct Medical Opinion (IMO) research prior to appointments.
  • Maintain medical records and billing reports, adhering to privacy regulations.
  • Prepare and sanitize exam rooms and instruments to ensure safety and hygiene.
  • Escort and assist claimants during examinations.
  • Send diagnostics to appropriate facilities, ensuring timely processing.
  • Record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and weight.
  • Collaborate with the Supervisor for smooth clinic operations.
  • Perform blood draws and conduct EKGs, PFTs, and ABI tests as directed.
  • Assist with visitor screening and check-in/out procedures using the Patient Scheduling system.
  • Follow Infection Control policies and maintain housekeeping protocols.
  • Operate office equipment and assist with inventory management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in phlebotomy is mandatory.
  • Experience as a Medical Assistant or in healthcare preferred.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or certification preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in medical procedures like phlebotomy, EKGs, PFTs.
  • Attention to detail and knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to privacy regulations.
  • Typing speed of 45-60 WPM.
  • Familiarity with Office 365.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity for handling instruments and procedures.
  • Ability to lift and carry supplies and equipment.
  • Visual acuity for reading records and monitoring vitals.
