Job summary

Stormont Vail Health in Topeka, KS, is seeking a Medical Assistant (Float) for Weight Management. This full-time day shift role supports the primary care team, collects data at visits, measures vital signs, and coordinates tests and services under clinician supervision.

Qualifications

  • Successfully completed first semester in an accredited nursing program.
  • Successfully completed a medical assistant or patient care technician program.
  • A certified CMA, CMA (AAMA), RMA, CNA, EMT, or PCT certification may substitute for education.
  • Experience in an office or clinic setting.

Medical Assistant collect and record data when patients present for office visits, measure vital signs, coordinate patient tests and services, and complete point of care testing and/or phlebotomy as indicated. This position assists those in the patient care team to maintain efficient workflows and a pleasing physical environment to promote safe, quality care with a patient centered approach. Independent clinical decision making is outside of the scope of this position; refer clinical questions to the provider or nurse. Education Qualifications* Successfully completed first semester in an accredited nursing program. Required or* Successfully completed a medical assistant or patient care technician program.
