Job summary

Providence Saint John's Medical Foundation is seeking a Medical Assistant II to float across Santa Monica clinics, assisting in patient care under licensed supervision. The MA II performs all MA I duties and must be competent for assigned locations, following established policies and procedures.

Ideal candidates have MA program training or equivalent, with at least six months of healthcare and MA experience, and a 30-day BLS requirement. We offer varied clinic exposure and supportive teamwork.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program with hands-on clinical training.
• Completion of two years of medical training in US Armed Forces or equivalent.
• Minimum one year of medical assistant work experience including clinical skills such as vital signs, injections and medication administration.
• Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.

Supports and floats throughout affiliated clinics in Santa Monica.

The Medical Assistant (MA) II works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing patient care to assigned patients. A MA II performs all aspects of the MA I role and is fully competent in the clinical needs/functions for assigned clinic/location of work. An MA II is expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.

Required Qualifications:

• Coursework/Training and Graduate of an accredited school that includes hands on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants Or
• Coursework/Training and Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program Or
• Coursework/Training and has completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces Or
• Coursework/Training and minimum one year of work experience as a medical assistant that includes the following clinical skills: obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration Or
• Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
• 6 months of Healthcare experience
• 6 months of Medical Assistant experience
