Job summary

Providence Health Plan Group is seeking a Medical Assistant II to float across Southern LA County clinics, from Santa Monica to Torrance. You’ll provide patient care under a licensed practitioner, perform MA I duties, and adapt to varied clinical settings.

Ideal candidates have 1 year MA experience with skills in vital signs, injections, and medication administration; completion of accredited MA training or equivalent military healthcare training; BLS within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school that includes hands on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants.
• Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program.
• Has completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces.
• Minimum one year of work experience as a medical assistant that includes vital signs, injections, and medication administration.
• Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.
• 6 months Healthcare experience.
• 6 months Medical Assistant experience.

Medical Assistant - Float Southern LA County

Supports and floats throughout affiliated clinics in the Southern LA County vicinity such as Santa Monica, Ladera Heights, Hawthorne, Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach, Torrance, San Pedro, and Carson.

The Medical Assistant (MA) II works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing patient care to assigned patients. A MA II performs all aspects of the MA I role and is fully competent in the clinical needs/functions for assigned clinic/location of work. An MA II is expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.

Required Qualifications:
